Productive Procrastination
A slight change of pace
When there are things I need to do but don’t want to, I am most likely to take a nap. Also just as likely to scroll the internet or binge dumb TV with a lot of episodes. Or all of the above. This past week, I decided to do some minorly unpleasant tasks to avoid the worst one (job searching).
I’ve returned library books, donated a box of stuff that has been taking up precious space in my living room for at least a year, cleaned out expired food from the fridge, cooked real food, washed/folded/put away laundry, switched out my winter clothes for spring/summer, and generally organized my physical space.
Hopefully an orderly physical environment will make it easier for me to tackle the big ugly: figuring out the future. At the very least, instead of drudging home after a weekend in the ‘burbs looking after a teenager and a partially paralyzed dog, I am looking forward to returning home to order rather than chaos.
